The Draft Common Frame of Reference: A glance into the future

Laura Macgregor is a Senior Lecturer in Commercial Law and Director of the Edinburgh Centre for Commercial Law. Before becoming an academic, she spent several years working as a solicitor with a major Edinburgh law firm. Her interests lie in the field of commercial and contract law. Specific areas of interest include Scots law in the context of European private law, particularly agency law. She is also interested in legal history.
Laura Macgregor recently contributed the national notes for Scots law in the Mandate and Representation Title of Principles, Definitions and Model Rules of European Private Law: Draft Common Frame of Reference. She is currently acting as consultant to the Civil Division of the Scottish Government, providing advice on this document from the perspective of Scots law. She is also working on a new title on Agency for the Scottish Universities Law Institute (to be published by W Green) in addition to several other projects in the area of European private law.
The talk will commence at 5.30pm; tea and coffee will be served from 5.00pm.
